Washington LawHelp is a guide to free civil legal services for low-income persons and seniors in Washington. This site provides legal education materials and tools that give you basic information on a number of legal problems, and in some cases, detailed instructions and forms to help you represent yourself in court. You can also locate information on free legal aid programs in Washington, including basic eligibility and contact information.
This guide is a free service which is made possible through a grant from the Legal Services Corporation. The web site template was created by Pro Bono Net and is maintained by staff at the Northwest Justice Project.
The Northwest Justice Project (NJP) is a not-for-profit statewide organization that provides free civil legal services to low-income people from 17 offices throughout the state of Washington. Each year, NJP assists more than 18,000 people in need of critical legal assistance.
Pro Bono Net is a national nonprofit organization based in New York City and San Francisco. We work in close partnership with nonprofit legal organizations across the United States and Canada, to increase access to justice for the millions of poor people who face legal problems every year without help from a lawyer. We do this by (i) supporting the innovative and effective use of technology by the nonprofit legal sector, (ii) increasing participation by volunteers, and (iii) facilitating collaborations among nonprofit legal organizations and advocates working on similar issues or in the same region. We can be reached at 212-760-2554.
