Washington State Courts use the self-support reserve to figure out limits on child support obligations for low-income parents. The self-support reserve is 125% of the federal poverty guidelines. RCW 26.19.065(2).
The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services updated the federal poverty guidelines in January, 2012. As a result, the self-support reserve has gone up $30.00 for 2012:
