If you filed a Petition before March 23, 2020:
- All court hearings prior to April 28 have been cancelled.
- If you already have a Temporary Domestic Violence Protection Order, the Court signed a Reissuance Order keeping the Temporary Order in effect and set (rescheduled) the new court date to April 28.
- You need to get a copy of the Order from the Clerk’s Office and serve it on the opposing party.
- If you filed a Petition to Renew an Order for Protection, the Court signed a Temporary Extension of the Order and set the new court date to April 28.
- You need to get a copy of the Order from the Clerk’s Office and serve it on the opposing party.
- If you filed a Petition to Modify (change) or Terminate (end) an Order, a judicial officer will review it ex parte (without the other party there). Get a copy of the Court’s order from the Clerk’s Office.
- If the Court enters a Notice of Hearing, you must serve it on the opposing party.
If you filed a Petition after March 23, 2020:
- Submit your Petition and supporting documents to the Clerk’s Office for a judge or commissioner to review ex parte. You must submit all documents you want the Court to review at Ex Parte by 11:00 a.m. that day. Otherwise, the court will review your papers the next day. Signed Orders will be available at the Clerk’s Office after 3:30 pm on the day the Court reviewed the Petition.
- The Court will set the Review Hearing for April 28 or later.
- You need to get a copy of the Order from the Clerk’s Office and serve it on the opposing party.
